Make CA Golden Again

Born and raised in the Inland Empire, I know firsthand what a gem our state is, and I love California. But like many other Californians, I am fed up with the leadership of our beloved state. They do not make it easy to remain here, but I cannot and will not abandon it. This state is worth protecting and saving, and it is time we start showing and sharing that we are here to stay and help make it golden again.

Mama Bear Mentality Collection

I created this design in 2021 when it became clearer than ever that we, as parents, are the ultimate earthly protection for our children. I wanted everyone who saw me wearing it to know exactly where I stand. Just as Jesus is for us, I and so many other mamas are for our children. Not mandates. Not regulations. Not safety in the name of science. For our children.

Revival Shoppe Brand Collection

On my husband’s and my 10th wedding anniversary, we decided to get Romans 8:31 tattooed on our wrists. ‘If God is for us, who can be against us?’ Having the daily and visible reminder offers me so much peace.

I had several more verses that I wanted to get inked on myself, but then quickly realized, if I tattooed every verse that I love, on myself, I wouldn’t have a blank space on my body…

…And while I have nothing against tattoos, this collection was, a way for me to create wear-and-share items that are meaningful and unique, and don’t require any more time under the needle.

THIS IS REVIVAL SHOPPE

Mari Lagestee
Founder, Revival Shoppe

In 2017, I opened a little storefront on Etsy and named it ‘Revival Shoppe’. It was a creative space where I could sell my refurbished yard sale and dumpster diving treasures. I learned from my dad early on that just because someone no longer wanted something did not mean it was without value. It just needed a little refresh, a revival, hence the shop’s name. It was one of the things I enjoyed most and a skill that I shared with my dad, something that kept me connected to him and grateful for him after he passed away a few years earlier.

I would spend the day caring for my family and our home while eagerly looking forward to getting back into my garage to mend and fix, sand and paint, write down ideas for projects, and always keep an eye out for roadside furniture. Seriously, you can find the best chairs on the side of the road.

But life happens. Being a wife and parent, among other things, kept life quite full, and we had bigger family matters to attend to. Inevitably, my refurbishing projects were sent to the back burner, and Revival Shoppe was placed on pause.

Fast forward to the beginning of 2024 when I found myself couch bound after severely spraining my ankle and fracturing my heel. In an attempt to do what I can only describe as fly down the stairs (it is still a blur), I broke myself, yet inadvertently shook up some creative juices. While I thoroughly enjoyed binge watching Gilmore Girls with my oldest, I had designs pouring into my mind that I had to bring to life. Since all I needed was my computer to get started, being injured did not matter. In fact, it helped. When you cannot drive and can only get around by scooter, you are forced to be still for a bit.

I began taking my designs and putting them on clothing and accessories. I loved every step of the process, from concept to fruition, and decided I wanted to put them out into the world. I realized it was time to lift the pause and revive Revival Shoppe. After all, all it needed was a little refresh.

Now Revival Shoppe has its own space online. If you have come across our site, I am so excited that you are here. Welcome.

I hope you discover something here that you like, but even more, I hope our story helps you dust off, or even uncover, your purpose and passion. They were always meant to work together.

With every ounce of my appreciation,

Mari.
